How We Do It
The Green Economy Network brings together hundreds of nonprofits, government agencies, and employers to assess the green economy, improve the collective understanding of challenges and opportunities in the sector, connect workforce developers with employers, and facilitate decarbonization goals. The Network is committed to:
Developing formal employer partnerships to increase economic opportunities, understand industry needs and priorities, align partners by sector, and develop and market training
Establishing replicable, scalable paths for jobseekers to enter and advance in quality careers in the green economy
Advocating for standardized government investments in clean energy sector employment
We believe there’s no wrong door to green careers - meaning that we are a hub for the supply side (jobseekers) and demand side (employers). We work towards our goals by:
Monthly convening of Network leadership, learning communities, working groups, and ad-hoc task forces
Advocacy campaigns driven by the voices of those on the frontlines of clean energy implementation
Annual career expos with both career exploration and hiring opportunities
Guest speakers and professional development opportunities for Network members
Labor market research and employer feedback loops on emerging occupations and skills in demand

Our No Wrong Door Approach
Supply Side
We recognize that there are many motivated jobseekers looking for their next career move, and there are a limited number of seats. If you are not able to serve someone, chances are, another member can. When a jobseeker walks through your doors, you can feel confident that the GEN can support their journey too.
Demand Side
The Green Economy Network partners with green employers across all industries to be a business solution for employers growing their green workforce. When an employer approaches the GEN, they tap into hundreds of qualified candidates.
